Quintrex and Yamaha – a winning combination

Brisbane Yamaha’s own Gary Howard takes the very popular, feature packed Quintrex Renegade 420 Side Console to the Pumicestone Passage, Bribie Island to see why a Quintrex + Yamaha is such a winning combination, and why the Quintrex Renegade 420 Side Console is such a popular model.

Gary shows us how smooth the 40HP 4-Stroke lifts the boat up onto the plane and how effortlessly it gets the boat moving. The Quintrex Renegade 420 SC is rated up to 50HP, so with a 40HP 4-Stroke, you get the best of both worlds, with plenty of performance and great economy. Gary demonstrates the boat cruising at a great economical speed of 4600 revs.

The Quintrex Renegade features Quintrex’s famous Blade Hull with plate sides, which gives very smooth performance and allows boats to get onto the plane smoothly with minimum horse power. The Blade Hull also diverts the spray away from the boat, allowing a clean, dry, safe and comfortable ride, exactly what you want when you get a bit of chop on the water.

The Renegade range are very beamy boats which makes them a nice stable boat, ideal for casting fishing lines, dropping crab pots, throwing cast nets, and for those who need a stable boat to maneuverer safely.

Quintrex have done a great job of adding plenty of storage to the boat. Gary shows us the excellent design incorporated into the raised casting deck at the rear of the boat. The cast deck is an excellent platform to cast from, and includes a plumbed live bait tank, suitable for live or dead bait, tackle/knife storage, a battery/electronics and isolation switch compartment, and safe storage for a fuel tank, fuel filter and water separator. The design of the rear raised cast deck allows for a neat, non-cluttered layout at the rear of the boat.

Up the front of the boat, the Renegade boats the same level of design in another raised casting deck with plenty of storage underneath, housing a big plumbed live fish well or esky in the centre, storage for safety gear and any additional gear either side, and more storage for a second battery(if you are going to use an electric motor, or just for general storage), and of course a large and easy to access anchor well. This boat also includes large side pockets, which are ideal for storage tackle and additional gear.

The Side Console is a nice and simple design with a glove box, drink holder, and with an open front, allows plenty of storage underneath for a large esky or tackle box.

All of this storage gives a huge area to fish from with nothing cluttered or in the way which makes fishing on the water with a few people in the boat not only possible, but quite comfortable.

At the serious end of the boat, Brisbane Yamaha has fitted the 40HP 4-Stroke, which is powerful and economical, yet quiet and smooth. Gary demonstrates how smooth and quiet the motor starts up and eases into gear, as well as cruising on the water.

One of the great benefits with buying a new Quintrex boat, motor and trailer package from Brisbane Yamaha is knowing that the trailer has been made for the boat, and getting the boat back on the trailer will be easy and hassle free. You will have peace of mind knowing that the qualified and experienced Yamaha Technicians from Brisbane Yamaha have installed your motor in a state of the art workshop.
